(1,277 posts)they are touring for the 40th anniversary in June. Don Henley said he thought it would be a couple of years all around the world and then after that, maybe they would retire. They are all 65 or older. They have had a fantastic career.

(1,245 posts)I'd dump all the Tim B. Schmidt schlock if I had my druthers though, and substitute Joe Walsh and Don Henley solo stuff. Not gonna happen though.
and Hole in the World (not Wall ) I find a tad on the cheesy side as well, although the harmonies are pretty sweet ... I'd rather hear 7 Bridges Road for those purposes.
Seriously doubt they'd ever play "Try and Love Again" since Randy Miessner (sp?) isn't in the band anymore and that's totally 'his' song. It's one of my all time faves though, it's too bad he's not w/em anymore.
Come to think of it, I could also do w/o almost all the Glenn Frey-sung tunes as well, save for Take it Easy & Already Gone (which you omitted both) ... unfortunately they won't skip all of 'em, he has to get his turn I guess.
Also, this stretch of your list:
The Last Resort
Wasted Time
Sad-Cafe
I can't tell you why
Would put the crowd to sleep, that's too many mellow tunes in a row, esp. late in the set ... although the first three are three of my all time fave Eagles cuts, they'd need to be interspersed throughout the night I think.
SOOO, I guess what I'm saying is ... my list would be pretty different if I had my way

The better half and I love The Eagles. Got our 2nd row seat tickets all ready for the concert towards the end of the year.

(35,961 posts)Much as I don't like Black Sabbath, I'd rate even them above the Eagles, and if given a choice would bite the bullet and listen to them instead...

(1,277 posts)should be a fantastic show. The reviews have been great and they are playing around 3 hours.

(1,277 posts)for a group of almost 70 year olds, they can still play and sing better than most bands around.
Fabulous set list and just a great show. Money well spent!
The better half and I had a wonderful time.
