The scene when Kim Novack walks out of her room for the big reveal is astounding.

No better Hitchcock.

The scene is mostly speechless. Here is Hitchcock at his greatest, underscored by the great Bernard Hermann's music.

This scene alone deserved some kind of an Oscar, and why Novak did not win one that year, I'll never know.

It is a brilliant flick. And yes, Hitchcock was obsessed with obsession here.

Enjoy!

Update: the slowest kiss in cinema.
Sorry about it being somewhat chopped off at the end. However, the most important part is there, the set up to that kiss. And Hitch delivers. Don't get me started about Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint train compartment kiss in North by Northwest or the Grace Kelly/James Stewart kiss in Rear Window, both also great scenes. However, this Vertigo kiss is all about the foreplay. And there's never been a better expression of that than this.
