(54,502 posts)Luckily, there was a NPS office at the Cape Cod National Seashore in the Provincelands, about a 15 minute drive from where we were staying when we were on vacation in the States in July. It took all of about 10 minutes. Unfortunately my wife couldn't get one, since you have to be a U.S. citizen.

(54,502 posts)We usually only do that one vacation a year in the States anyway. Most of the time, we just take long weekends here in Europe, since there's less time change involved. Besides, here we're only 1-2 hours by air from London, Dublin, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Paris, Warsaw, Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Zürich, Geneva, Rome, Barcelona, etc etc etc. We have plenty of places right on our doorstep as it is.
