I'm with Jamaican Blue Mountain above, or various East African varieties.

I appreciate the delicate flavor of Kona, but it's not my cup of joe.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kona_coffee

Kona coffee is the market name for coffee (Coffea arabica) cultivated on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa in the North and South Kona Districts of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. Only coffee from the Kona Districts can be described as "Kona".

[...]

Because of the rarity and price of Kona coffee, some retailers sell "Kona Blends". These are not a combination of different Kona coffees, but a blend of Kona and Colombian, Brazilian, or other foreign coffees. Usually they contain only the minimum required 10% Kona coffee and 90% cheaper imported beans.

-----

So, I'm talking about Kona coffee. Obviously, anyone's Kona blend could consist of 90% "whatever" and vary wildly. You'll note that the package you pictured states that it is a "blend".

My band backed up his band (the Youngbloods) in 1967. Last month, I just saw him for the first time since 1973.

He has since moved to the Big Island and grows his own Kona Coffee. I don't know how good his coffee is, but his music is still mighty fine.

Kona is like many island coffees which are grown at lower altitudes and as such tend to lend themselves better to darker roasts, which I am not a fan of. I prefer higher altitude coffees with lighter roasts.

The reason single origin Kona is more expensive has more to do with higher production costs.

I'm sure Kona must be good because a lot of people seem to like it.

When I'm desperate and there's no Colombian to be had, then I can drink Breakfast Blend or Pike Place in a pinch.

Check your supermarket and maybe try it...its worth it! Or you can order the non blended stuff on line, from the Coffee growers in Hawaii.
