(116,122 posts)I loved them; they were one of my favorite animals. Then one day when I visited the zoo they were gone, and I asked what happened to them. I was told they were "traded" to another zoo, which is evidently something that happens fairly often. I'm sure they're fine wherever they are (maybe they wound up at the Denver Zoo), but I was disappointed that they were gone because they were so much fun to watch.

(16,402 posts)Yes, they do trade back and forth for breeding purposes and a wider exposure. It's disappointing when your favorite critter leaves.
Even though I don't usually like zoos that much--I haven't been to the Denver Zoo in ages--I think I may need to visit to see the new kitteh.

(116,122 posts)You really should go to the zoo to see them; it's really cool how they fish. And they are very cute.
I miss my Fishing Cats.

(16,402 posts)The article also said their talons are hook-shaped for fishing. Too cool. You're right I gotta go see 'em.
