The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHello
Hello Americans. British guy, 40 years or so over there, about 10 here, finding solace in the concerns and humanity of DU amid the shock of the 'election'.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes.
Best of wishes to all

How do you feel about Brexit?
Compared with what happened here it will be a walk in the park. I would of voted remain. Neither side made much of an argument, both used fear as the main tool of persuasion. Whatever happened with the vote, there would be no disaster- even if the other side tried to make out there would be he'll let loose if you voted for the opposition view.
It's the younger folk I feel sorry for. They mainly voted remain, and they are the ones who own the future and have to live there longer.
Made me think that votes should count half if you're over 65...
It's the hate and division, the targeting of people not like 'us', as the problem; that's the horrible fallout.
Time will tell.
Most people will just put the kettle on anyway whatever...

(33,054 posts)You may have noticed how chatty/friendly the lounge can be. So my ? for you, what is your favorite style of tea. Local grocery has started carrying Builsets Blend and I'm cut curious.
I've found PG Tips, all the way from England too.
Builsets blend?
There's quite a few British branded items in the supermarkets here

(53,410 posts)I came here at the beginning of the Bush Administration because I became very worried too. this place will keep you sane and you'll find many a kindred soul (except during Presidential elections when there's lots and lots of spilled blood).
As an American I would like to extend an apology to you and the rest of the world for Trump.
to apologise. We started it all by not sinking the mayflower and therefore allowing a bunch of nutty discontents to run riot.
Thanks for the welcome.
