The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSome love and good wishes for our CaliforniaPeggy who is having surgery today
on her knee.
CaliforniaPeggy is one of the best of us here on DU. Always ready with affirmation and a good word
to support each of us and the democratic community. You can feel her warmth, her love, her positive nature
in each and every one of her posts. CaliforniaPeggy is a DU treasure.
So, how about we post good wishes for her as she goes under the knife--yet again, as she's said--to
replace a knee and hope for her strength and endurance as she undergoes the rigorous rehab to get the new
knee working well?
We love you, CaliforniaPeggy!

(17,774 posts)Down the sides into one long strip, to make a sort of sling to pick up your leg and move it. When trying to get up from a lying position, it's helpful.
I can make you one and send it, lmk.
Cheers brave CaPeggy! Onward! It will get better <3

(7,817 posts)I've had knee surgery. It was no picnic. The worst part was the physical therapy. It was astonishing at how my leg muscles atrophied after only a few days of non-mobility. It took a about three months to get back to complete confidence in my ability to walk.

I may be going home today but we're waiting on a doctor to approve it. Every day I am stronger and more functional which makes me extremely happy!
Once I get home, I will be using my desktop computer, which will be much easier! This is an iPad which I am not used to.
