There was a guy who co-wrote with her an played bass for her back in those days, and he was a friend. Right after she won her first set of Grammy Awards I was at his place one night with a bunch of friends for a post gig session. I went in the kitchen to get another beverage and there was a Grammy sitting on the kitchen table! I will admit, it was late at night and my senses were somewhat dull, but I stood there and just stared at that thing with my mouth hanging open. I went walking back into the living room and asked John about it. He was like, "Well, I didn't have anyplace to put it, so it's just sitting out there in the kitchen."

He has since moved to Nashville to do his own thing, and I hear he's doing pretty well. He was a really talented bass player and a gifted writer. Nice guy, but kinda odd, sometimes, however...
