I live in Maine, but I used to have relatives in Minnesota. I thought Minnesota had probably the best tasting corn. It was always very cheap there too. It was always a treat to have corn out in Minnesota. I thought Maine corn was bland in comparison. Also, cheese from Wisconsin (right next door) was good too.

Bought 2 ears at the local farm stand - big fat organic ears.

so sweet it was almost too much.

Add salt and fat = sinful

Last year, I ate it straight off the farm/market, raw, not cooked, salted or buttered!

Pulled back the husk - stripped off the silk.

Re-wrapped the husk and put them in the upper basket while the (local) pork chops and eggplant were grilling below.

They were dessert.

Picked fresh and boiled, already pre-sea salted from the ocean spray, with melted butter the kernels just POP in your mouth with with sweet Maine corn flavor.

A lot better than that mid-west cattle feed we get during the off season.

When I have bought it at the store here in Maryland (not sure where it comes from), it was white. Now, growing up in Minnesota, it was always yellow, and had flavor. This stuff the other day was bland.
