...just doesn't do it for me. As a long time regular viewer of Jon Stewart and The Daily Show, I have TRIED to like him and find him entertaining, but it is not happening. I thought if I gave him a few months, it would be OK...but it is not. Trevor Noah does not have "it".
One of the things I loved about Jon Stewart is that he was absolutely fearless during his interviews. Trevor Noah seems to go out of his way to AVOID controversial issues.
He won't ask his guests the tough questions, only pumps puff interviews.
I will be watching something else during Trevor's time slot. (10PM Central, Comedy Central)
Now, OTOH, Larry Wilmore of The Nightly Show that immediately follows The Daily Show, is absolutely brilliant.

(78,249 posts)Comedy Central quit running reruns of the previous day's shows in a more accessible evening time slot. Then they replaced the South Park reruns that replaced them with another hour of Futurama, or Archer, or Tosh.0!

(16,379 posts)Seth Meyers is doing Jon's old job; his monologues are right on. To get what used to be my "Daily Show" fix I am watching the first 10 minutes of Seth's show and all of "Last Week Tonight" with John Oliver. I also like Larry Wilmore A LOT.

But then who could be?
I feel for him.
Shoes no one could fill.
Jon is one of a kind.
He was kinda brave to even take a shot.

(6,278 posts)It's a weekly show which can be a huge advantage - there's no filler, just a whirlwind of passionate satire, comedy and commentary blasting out of the screen from start to finish.

(19,835 posts)I also think Stewart drove people on other shows to up their game. Noah just seems like he's one of the crowd. I like Noah and I generally enjoy watching the show but it's just no longer appointment television.

(205,346 posts)I woke up and it was on, not even sure what channel it was - possibly HBO. I was quite impressed with the talent that we never see on The Daily Show, he could do impressions and voices and his comedy was much more cutting edge than anything we ever see on Comedy Central.
And I agree about Larry Wilmore, loved him on The Daily Show and The Nightly Show is just great! He's this year's guest comedian at The White House Correspondents' Dinner tomorrow night! I'm really looking forward to it!

(17,195 posts)... I tend to be disappointed by 15-minute interviews, anyway. Not nearly enough time to do more than cheerlead. And most such interviews are intended to plug a book or movie in the first place.
