(19,564 posts)Fear the Walking Dead vs Game of Thrones? No contest!
I'm excited about GOT! I've all but given up on George R.R. Martin actually finishing it over the many, many, many years I've followed his series. I'm ready for some resolution to my questions.
FTWD I just watch thinking there's a chance the characters might still evolve into something I can eventually feel sustainable empathy for. Which doesn't even begin to compare to the emotional roller coaster that is GOT!

(15,806 posts)Wonder whether it's the plane frequently shown in the short snips?
it will be the same plane flight 462. I think the Asian girl may make it, though it could be the boy that called his mom.

(18,312 posts)I don't connect with any of the characters. Nothing like TWD character and story development. Tonight, bad things nearly happened to several main characters and it's like who cares? No anxiety, no slight fear. I find myself looking at the clock wondering how much longer, as opposed to TWD looking at the clock savoring each minute.

(16,377 posts)I appreciate the change of venue from the south to the west coast. You're right about the character development, though. The script seems to be written quickly and thrown out to production.

(90,764 posts)A lot of stupid going on though.
Now they know if they cover themselves in dead guts the dead can't smell you. (Thanks, Nick - you strange man)
Chris makes a mercy killing.
Well, that was more than a little heartless.
Dear FtWD people - you have to help others. Not everyone can be helped and there will be those who want to hurt you, but you will need people with various skills, as well as more fighters. Stop being jerks. Thank you.
P.S. Victor? That was fucked up.

I hope that was a wise choice to avoid getting better anti-biotics. That one will probably come back to haunt him.

(46,703 posts)That scene with all the zombies coming over the hill finally raises the show to the level we were hoping for. We need to see more of that.

(90,764 posts)Especially since he does need Travis (he can fix the boat). Daniel is smart (and manipulative) - and not without weapons training. Madison is a killer, regardless of what Victor said about her, and we're going to find out more about her dark side soon. Chris is going to pull a Carol soon - personal crisis. The kid went from moody to Rambo to mercy killing in a short span of time without much introspection - no time to regroup.
Nick needs to stop looking for recreational drugs in every port. Gets him into bad situations. So far, he's come out OK and managed to help others, but that might not always be the case. Nick is a survivor, though. So...
They should have taken Alex. The teen was a goner, but Alex was smart and quick to act (and definitely a killer) - on the plane, she somehow knew what was happening. I wonder if she survives, only to be in a position to help the others later and makes the right decision (the one they didn't).
Alicia is sort of Glenn - do the right thing.
Ofelia needs to buck up.

(46,703 posts)And there is conflict between Strand and the others. I can very much see her turning up again, though I don't know how she catches up to the boat.
There was a shot of someone floating in the water in the previews for next week and the guy looked like Strand.

Very good episode.

(56,828 posts)I still have not watched the episode. I've had a busy week, but when I had a choice of which episode to watch, I chose my recorded episode of The Flash over Fear TWD

(53,410 posts)The appearance of the woman from the airplane crash somehow injected some electricity into it for me. This woman has very strong survival skills and a great badass attitude. I hope she becomes a regular for a long time. And I hope she gets revenge on Strand. She seems way ahead in her knowledge of what's going on than the rest of them. Maybe she was on the plane to escape a zombie outbreak which is why she seemed to know what was going on.
There was more tension because everyone is beginning to really get it. And there is now suspense that can carry us further. After the Walking dead we, the audience knows everything about them, so there's no suspense there for us. Stand's mysterious plans are creating suspense. It's gotten me really curious.
