American Horror Story 12/14 - "Birth"

And the house claims another victim.

Zachary Quinto as Chad was so funny in this episode:

Constance: What you are planning to do is unnatural.
Chad: Deodorant's unnatural, but it's a public good. We'll make excellent parents.
Constance: Man shall not lie with man. It is an abomination.
Chad: So's that hairdo, but I figure that's your business.

And his scene with Violet trying to banish him from the house was funny too. Playing along and then dissing the medium as " that press on nails psychic".

And of course Ben being completely clueless.

I'm wondering how Ben explains everything that happens to Viv and to Violet to the police? Then again, maybe it never makes it that far.

...I think the police took the bodies since there was a lucid moment of sanity where someone thought to call the police about random people just happening to wander into the house uninvited (and really, Security hunk needs to be fired for not installing new locks on the doors with the security system they installed).

them talking about the "friend" was found a few blocks away nearly cut in two but there was no trace of the others. They thought they disappeared out of state somewhere and used the third (the one who cased the place out by setting an appointment with Ben) as a part of their ritualistic killings.

And security hunk was called in after the break-in. The break-in was episode two and the security guy showed up during episode three.

Before any of them realized they had a ghost problem....Nora, Tate, Hayden, Elizabeth, Constance, Larry, Addie....

Ben didn't even flinch when Hayden wandered into the kitchen when Hayden's sister showed up with the detective. (Of course Ben isn't all that bright anyhow, thinking Larry and Hayden were involved in some elaborate fake death scheme).

I still want to know what Larry needed the $1000 dollars for.

I don't think the Harmons survive the season.

Can you imagine being trapped for eternity in a house with your philandering husband, his mistress, your moody daughter and her psychopathic boyfriend. Add in two infants, one of whom is the antichrist. Also a gay couple who despise each other, a pair of jackass twin boys, a developmentally-disabled boy who seems to be unnaturally-strong, the neighbor's kind but idiotic boyfriend, a sexually-inappropriate maid, an inhalant-addicted corpse-defiling early-20th-c. abortionist, his demonic pig-child and homicidal wife.

It reads like the setup of a gothic comedy.

I have a friend who won't watch because he finds it frustrating not knowing (or keeping track of) who is alive or dead.

(I'm watching on Hulu so I'm 8 days behind. I already know what happens generally in the current episode, I just can't watch it until a week from now.)

Like I wonder now if the flashes Ben saw during the birth were actually what was happening or if they were breaks into something else. What if Ben actually killed his family early on and everything else is a manic hallucination of some sort? What if every one of the ghosts is someone he's met before and he's incorporated them into his delusions?'

Not my favorite ending but it's a theory.

This isn't one season and done, is it? That would pretty well make a season two impossible. At the rate they're going anyways, they are going to have problems past one season unless they bring in a new family.

Then Murphy said that if there was a second season it would be a completely different focus. The show is about American horror stories, not necessarily the story of one family or even one house (which is the real star of the show-and for sale as we speak!). Now he's being coy about how season two will play out.

Murphy has great first seasons and then the subsequent seasons tend to go downhill fast.
