The series was sweet and funny and usually had a little moral thrown in there.
Fun to watch Opie grow up.
Who knew what a movie power he would become?

(11,776 posts)Andy Griffith is an American treasure, imo.

(60,010 posts)I missed a lot of tv series' over the last 20 years ( worked nights)
so now I do a bedtime watch of Law and Order, watch a couple episodes, then off to bed.
apparently that is a LONG running series...
At other times West Wing is soothing, but ti does tend to be depressing when compared to what the real WH is doing.

(66,509 posts)Which I re-watch all the way through at least twice a year on DVD.
It was comfort TV during the GWB years. Nowadays, I watch episodes that are outdated simply because the liberal initiatives that failed under Bartlet (gays in the military, marriage equality, etc.) are now a reality under President Obama.

(13,661 posts)-- those books are truly some of the best comedy writing I've ever read.
Oh, and A&E's Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth

I watched/re-watched Rockford through her infancy.
I believe she still kicks her legs around when she hears the theme music.

(29,503 posts)I particularly like this one from 1959:

Interesting side note: The voice of Witch Hazel, June Foray - Ms. Foray is apparently alive and well and living in CA at the age of 98.

A truly great voice actress. One of the reasons why Bullwinkle is one of my all-time favorites
And A Witch's Tangled Hare was another of my favorites, especially around Halloween

I like to watch all the Law & Orders too.

(34,093 posts)and yes, they still make me laugh too. even when i know what the next line is--i love the delivery and reactions by other actors. it's just a really good show with very good actors & writing.

Always liked the witty and snappy dialogue on the Gilmore Girls, even if it may regarded as a "chick show".

(1,573 posts)I have the entire series on DVD. One of my favorite lines is from an April Fool's Day episode, spoken by Colonel Potter:
"Despite my direct orders, you people put "BE STUPID" first on your list of things to do today!"
(It's not so funny reading it - Harry Morgan's delivery is what makes it.)

Here's a great trailer:
