Our dog wouldn't hesitate.

Our cats flip a coin for non-catfood. Usually it's not a win.

So my experience supports what you saw. There is something wrong with meat in the food supply.

I don't think he would have cared what it was made of as long as it was some kind of meat. The other two might have nibbled a bit.

They are conditioned to eat the same thing every day and are less apt to try new things compared to outdoor cats, which generally have a more varied diet.

to around the holidays when given as gifts.

I tell the bearer of the gifts, "they won't eat them" and demonstrate. I bake dog treats about every 4 weeks for them (makes a huge batch).

That said Riley, my Siberian is pestering now as he knows it is "treat time". This months flavor is bacon! Gotta go.

...loves arugula and spinach. Snarfs it down as if it were tuna. (And yes, I have checked and determined that small amounts are safe.)

He was just demanding i give him some and i was trying to tell him, yes you heard a can, but its not catfood... But i gave him some and he was like eating manna from heaven.
