... because I don't want to ever overstep my boundaries.
I set up a GoFundMe for my friend, Mistie Crow. She is on SSI and had some roommates really screw her over this last go-around (they were supposed to pay the utilities, and ... well, didn't.) She's scraped up enough with LIHEAP assistance and $50 from the only church out of the 25 she called who could help her to make at least a token payment on the gas and the electricity (though not the full amount, and they may still shut her off since it's less than the "cure" amount), but her water will be shut off on the 11th.
She really helped me out after I lost my job. I was her roommate for awhile until I just couldn't afford even the $300 she was charging me for room, utilities, and all the food I could eat since she wanted to fatten me up... I was way too skinny when I moved in with her. She would have let me stay anyway, she agreed to even go down to $150, but I knew she couldn't break even with just that and left so that she could rent to someone who could pay the full amount.
I dream big, so I set the goal higher than that, because it'd be the ultimate thing if something like this could also help her get a vehicle. But she'll be thrilled with any help she can get.
When I spoke to her last, the "cure" amount on the bills was approximately $612.03.
Here's her FB page for people who want to know more about the person they're donating to, instead of just going by my word.

Please forgive the Fox News like, she's referring to the news broadcast of the local affiliate. It's actually one of the better ones in our city. She doesn't have cable to get real Fox News and see how atrocious it is.
Edit: realize I elft out the GoFundMe page.
