After a seeming outpouring of concern, Paula Current expected Cody and Callie to have new homes by now.
But interest in the border collie and diabetic cat has fizzled, and they remain in the custody of Perry County Animal Rescue.
Cody and Callie were the pets of Jennifer Zerbe-Hecker, who was shot and killed near her home in Perry County on Jan. 11.
In online forums accompanying news accounts of her death and the rescue of her animals, many people expressed concern about where the animals would end up, and some seemed willing to provide a home.

This is Pennsylvania, if anyone is there or knows of someone there.

(47 posts)amount allowed by law. I come from a long line of animal lovers so my friends and family also have the maximum allowed by law, if not one or two over. There wouldn't be anyone I know legally able to take my loved ones if, or when I pass. Rather than take a chance on my family members being raided and possibly shot by police for having too many animals, I've requested my animals be put to sleep at my passing. Most of them are in their senior years and I cringe at the thought of them being terrified in a shelter and still being put down because no one wanted them.
