Dumb Question about the Seahawks

I'm not a football fan, but I am a Seattle fan.

I just realized that the Seahawks logo has a lot of influence of Northwest Native American Art.

Just wondering if anyone knows if that's deliberate or coincidental.

As it happens, I was working at NFL Properties just after the logo was designed, and knew the designer. I thought it was the best NFL logo at the time. Since then, there have been others, notably the Broncos, that are excellent.
