I am cleverly tricking myself into remembering something.

I have to put something in the refrigerator at work, and then REMEMBER to grab it before I go home.

NOTE: Kids have an activity directly after school, and the bag is the "before activity" snack.

So, I put the bag in the refrigerator WITH MY KEYS IN THEM - HA! Now, I can't leave work without getting it!

I am simultaneously proud of myself for making ABSOLUTELY SURE I don't forget the brown bag of snack-hood, and kind of horrified that I really won't remember it if I don't.

The worst part is that there is a very good chance I will make it half-way to the care before I "remember."

Welcome to "week three" of kids-back-to-school, and still trying to get the routines under control.

I can't do stuff like that because an hour later I'm wondering where the hell I put my keys.

I am *constantly* trying to remember the last "safe" place I put things.

I have a great story about putting my wedding ring "somewhere safe" two months before the wedding.

Still safely there, and we've been married for nearly 17 years - doh! Lol!

Unless you donated it to Goodwill with the ring still inside the zippered pocket.

spend twenty minutes in the car looking for her keys before she called my stepfather to bring her the spares. The activity-snack would still be in the fridge a week from now.

me absolutely crazy.

Totally disorganized...she never put her keys in her purse after getting back home from someplace. Searching for them in there would only have taken five minutes as opposed to the 20 minutes or more spent turning the house upsidedown because she forgot where she put them.

I have all my keys on a carabiner clip that goes on the strap of my purse. Same place every time.

Okay, what does that say about me, that stealing wasn't even on my list of possibilities?

Too nice or too naive?

Hmmm....

You guys had me totally paranoid! Got the son dropped off at grandma's house and the daughter to ballet class in a reasonable time, with "go-gurt yogurt", two oreos and some turkey pepperoni each to fortify them. I need a better plan for Wednesday - they both do gymnastics right after school, and if they don't get a snack, they get grumpy.

Thoughts? The "cold keys getting stolen" is definitely a "re-think" this plan.

Sigh.

Sad we can't trust people as much as we wish.

I like your key trick. I tape notes to the door to remind me of things so I see them on the way out. Whatever helps, lol.

Edit: the sunglasses! I still haven't figured out how to keep proper track of those. Drives me crazy, but at least I haven't totally lost a pair recently.
