I've got my own funny story.
Back when drive-throughs were just beginning in my nearby city, my best friend & I stopped at a Taco Bell late at night. I was driving, & as I drove up to the speaker & rolled down my window, I told my bf, "I hate these things. They never hear me!" (My voice is soft.)
We waited a few moments before the voice on the speaker asked, "May I help you?"
"I'd like two burrito supremes, one diet Pepsi, & one Dr. Pepper."
"That'll be two bean burritos & two Dr. Peppers."
Flustered, I stuck my head as close to the speaker as I could, raised my voice as loudly as I could, & enunciated every syllable as I repeated my order.
He continued to mess with me, but I could hear laughter, & that's when I realized that they had heard what I said about never being heard at drive-throughs.
