The Washington Post asked the public to submit sunset or sunrise photos from readers around the world. Some of them are really spectacular, and as of this writing, the were still adding submissions:

Check it out, and add your own, if you have any. They do monitor submissions before posting, but they already took two of mine.

(3,173 posts)When I went to look at this my no-script add-on to firefox told me there were 10 other sites that wanted permission to execute who knows what on my system. Needless to say I won't be allowing them and therefore can't enjoy the pictures.
I wish everyone would make a huge stink about the proliferation of automatically executed scripts for no good reason.
the list:
echoenabled.com
js-kit.com
revsci.net
expressnightout.com
slate.com
theroot.com
trove.com
adsonair.com
scorecardresearch.com
yahooapis.com
doubleclick.net
not to mention washingtonpost.com itself and wapolabs.com
I did allow those two and was still blocked from viewing the sunsets.
Be aware of what you are signing up for.
(I have no association with no-script which is freeware).

(54,370 posts)I've been a subscriber to the free version of the Washington Post for many years, use Firefox, and
had no difficulty whatsoever. My machine may just be too unsophisticated to know what to block and
what not to.

It just goes to show that even though our world is often roiled by conflict and trouble, there is also much beauty...if we only take the time to look.
