The damn electric water heater in our new home runs out of hot water in 18 minutes. [img][/img]

We've had the heater for our birdbath for over 10 years. It's a good investment for winter birdwatching.
Yesterday, I watched a starling splashing around in the warm water complete with a snowy background.

Yep, coffee with DU and birdwatching.
I am truly blessed.

... and once, while walking to a friend's house nearby, I heard this eerie whoosh in the darkness.

My friend told me it was probably the passing of one of the pair of Great Horned Owls(?) that
nested in those woods every season.

Spooky 'til explained -- then cool as hell. Unfortunately, I never heard it again.
