So-called professionals who won't do their jobs or raise their own kids, and expect me to do it for

them!!!

Ok. I've spent the last week doing everyone else's jobs and raising everyone else's kids for them and I'm getting really really tired of it!

When did "Because I can't be bothered" become an excuse for not doing the job you're being paid for?

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person left who thinks I have to do my own work, instead of just coming up with a childish excuse!

Why are people so self-centered and lazy that they think the world is here to cater to them???

Why is it my responsibility to fix your absence of effort at the last minute????

Sorry. I'm getting sick and tired of lazy, helpless, dependent people.

I know disabled kids who really can't do things for themselves. To have everything you need at your fingertips and still choose to sit around and wait for the world to cater to you is insane!!

Arrrrrggghghhhhhhhh!!!!!

1. You're a teacher, right? I hear the same rant from my wife on a regular basis. I just give her hugs.

I sit outside in the van waiting for her to get off work and watch all the BMWs and SUVs pull in and the parents completely ignoring the kids when they come out. Why bother HAVING kids if you aren't going to treat them like people?

Lol. I really like my job, and it's not the kids who bother me: It's the adults.

But remember: Even when we're raising their kids for them, we're the lazy over-paid people with too much vacation time.

It demonstrates a complete lack of comprehension of what's involved in teaching.

they don't even know how to parent, let alone teach a child (which in many ways is what parenting is all about).

I am a middle school Nurse...so it is all about the drama here. And God help me if I can't remember which parent to contact, who not to tell, or tell precious lil pookems to get back to class and learn something instead of using the clinic as an excuse to ditch math.

I've gotta tell you, usually after an hour I was exhausted and drained. One freaking hour. And these were kids who were generally considered "good" kids -- not behavior-issue kids (although there was usually at least one in every class).

I have nothing but admiration for what teachers do.

who has worked as a nanny and a private school aide in recent years.
She says some of these rich snob people can't even be bothered to toilet train their kids. At one posh preschool program she was changing diapers on 4 year olds.
Honestly, you wonder why some of these idiots have kids. The children are raised by housekeepers, if by anyone at all.

They were pretty much completely raised by servants, and rarely interacted with their actual parents

But they don't know that til they have kids. I appreciate your anger because it makes it awfully hard. Can you proactively help them by, say, thanking them for the gift of their children in your class, talking about child development and great readings in that area and talking about how you and they can be a great team to help their kids become the happy and successful human beings they can be? I don't see kids in therapy any more but used to do this, and unless there's pathogen there that prevents it the parents often enjoy the relationship and do better. Good luck. It's a hard and incredibly valuable role.

They politely ask people to watch over their own kids, but realize that won't happen very often...

Smaller venues don't necessarily have that option, though.
