2. Starter word

It helps to pick a starter word with a LOT of vowels. Note mine has every vowel except "o". I like to use "audio" occasionally as well. Also, I use a word editing site called Best Word List. It lets you eliminate letters as you work through the puzzle. A BIG help! Just a thought.

10. I don't use a standard starter word

I used to use email audio or ourie. Now I just get up, check the weather, and just use whatever pops into my head. It’s more fun that way to me and I’m never getting a 1 using a starter word.

After SALON, I narrowed it down to WAGON, BACON, CAPON, and CANON. I figured that if WAGON was wrong, I'd have learned nothing. If BACON was wrong, I'd know there was a C in it, but not which of the remaining two was the one. But if either CANON or CAPON was wrong, I'd know which of the other two was correct. And then I luckily won the coin flip.
