FB is exhausting me

It doesn't matter I guess...today is Mothers Day, always a hard day for me, RIP Barbara.

I started following a minor actor (with a great life btw better than my life). I liked him in an ID show. So, I followed him on FB. Didn't really pay close attention. I'm assuming its a fans' page...suddenly I notice he's posting horrible anti-Biden posts and ugly anti trans...I went to my page and complained. Someone wanted his name. I gave it (not doing that again). A "friend" actually went onto his page to double check me and report back publicly they couldn't find any posts like that! Um, okay.

So, I did and found five awful posts and screenshotted them and posted the receipts. Maybe I'm just upset its Mothers Day. Why would someone go back and double check me on something like that? And then post it publicly?

I'm finding that FB is eroding my already-shaky mental health. Everyone is going on world trips and cruises living in beautiful houses and I'm staring down dental bankruptcy and worry.

Anyway, I posted his hateful posts. I found them easily. I guess I shouldn't care. FB is exhausting me. Time to not spend so much time on it and not caring. But why double check. Thats weird

2. Facebook is a cesspool. If it's causing so much stress, ditch it.

And keep in mind that people can post whatever they want on Facebook - all those cruises and beautiful homes, etc. - to make their lives look wonderful. As far as anyone knows they could be making it all up. Go outside and enjoy the spring weather and to hell with Facebook.

8. You are witness to your distresses, thus there is a separation

Condolences about the moment of pained feelings.

You are witness to your distresses, thus there is a separation; they are not you. But they are yours to experience.
Experiences come and go.

Keep the separation and know that that which you witness, that which you can objectify (including feelings) is not "you", the subject, the 'self'.
Distresses come and go but the "self-witness' is constant.
The only reason that people don't embrace distress when it comes is our innate awareness of our true nature as 'happy-conscious-being'.
Those folk with the trips and stuff are simply masking bigger, secret distress in their own lives. The seemingly blessed and the seemingly cursed are equal as 'conscious-being' buffeted by bad (and good).

Ty for responding. I'm still upset about mothers day, but getting over the weird fact checking of a jerks site. Oh, and he slammed Obama and immigrants. Sad, bc he has cute pets and seemingly nice family, loving wife, world traveler, solid guy. But we all have our POVs. Just odd to post political rants about tranns day being mental illness day out to fans.

Or Biden pooping in a diaper (!!!!!). Or how I should be ashamed of myself for voting as I do. But his page, his right to his opinions.

I like your philosophy and I'm going to ponder it

My gentle suggestion is simplify and remove the things that cause you pains and are not essential to you. Make a list and see what you can remove. I’d put Facebook and your sister on that list.

after Trump won the election as my board was overrun with Maga that I didn't even know. I figured I didn't need that in my life.I haven't posted since 2015 and I have no intention of going back. I did try to find my board so I could delete it finally. It was a mess with filthy words and the format changed. Stay away for your own well being. You owe it to yourself. Love, Debbie.

Here's the whackadoodle part...the woman fact-checking me on this Trumper ("Im just curious is, per her posting history, liberal! I'm just accusing a Trumper unfairly for shits n giggles. She'll make sure that doesn't happen

But dummy me named him. Not smart. I couldn't imagine being so bored Id search a Trumpers FB page looking for proof and then calling me out publicly.

Hope you and yours are well

You can report people and pages. Either to the Group Admin or FB.

Limit the people, pages, and groups you follow.

We have one mutual friend who's pretty cool. I cut the Trumper very-minor celebrity off. I don't need to read I should be "ashamed of myself "for voting for a "senile" old fool who's destroying America.

We all do things differently, and Trumpers are offensive. But if I was a very minor celebrity, Id be grateful for ALL my fans and keep things light. Cute pets, meals, world trips, sports. But, that's me. Id be so grateful for my lifestyle.

Including their quirks.

I have one that posts selfies of himself.
Another of old cars.
Flowers over and over.
Every day sunsets.

I will usually block the place they shared from. Other times I will snooze the person for thirty days.

20. Facebook seems to have quit me.

When I went to bed on 6/4/23, I was me. Upon waking up on 6/5/23, I discovered that a hacker had changed my identity to Tina Turner. It violates Facebook's Terms of Service to misrepresent yourself as being a famous person (the fact that a hacker did it apparently makes no difference) and so, Facebook's AI* disabled my account that had previously existed for 15 years without an issue.

I then spent the next several months trying measures that I had seen on various Reddit forums to try to reclaim my account. All of them failed so, in January 2024, I reluctantly created a new account. That lasted for about two months and change when I forgot my password and had to beg Facebook AI for a password reset. They were willing to go along with that, but I apparently made a mistake in the procedure and they refused my request for a reset--and have not allowed me the opportunity to try again.

I have concluded that the "solution" Facebook AI suggests for everything is "create a new account." Get hacked? Create a new account. Forget your password? Create a new account. Those "solutions" don't work for me so, unless and until Facebook gives me another chance to establish a new password (and I'm not holding my breath!), I have concluded I'll just have to do without Facebook. I would be okay with that, except I'm missing out on news from my relatives and friends who I've known for most of my life.

How awful.

Yeah, I was weirded out by a liberal going over a Trumpers FB page, searching for proof that what I was saying was true (it was). I really don't even know this woman.

A stranger actually taking time on her vacation to fact check me on a Trumpers reputation. Oh, it took me five mins to find the posts

I hope your fb issues somehow work out.
