sit in my reclining chair, smoke a joint, and experience the eclipse.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to look directly at it, because I was negligent in obtaining some glasses. I somehow thought they would be easily available today, but I was dead wrong. I put about 100 miles on my vehicle trying to find a pair this morning, but no luck. Oh well, my fault.
I might try to rig up one of those cereal box projection viewers.
I hope you all enjoy the eclipse viewing, if you are in a location where you can get a good view.

(17,508 posts)I just tried to kind of view it with my peripheral vision for a second or two.
That wasn't very satisfying, but I did enjoy how the colors and sharpness of things around me changed briefly.

I have a tshirt that says twice in a lifetime and has both totality paths. The two paths actually cross in Missouri

You could also punch small holes in a paper plate and use them as a projector. There are better examples on YouTube but I need to clean up the kitchen before I run out of time.

(17,508 posts)one of my neighbors saw me and came out to give me two pairs of solar glasses that she got from work.
Alas, the glasses were not needed because the cloud cover was so thick, I couldn't see anything anyway.
Here's a pic of what it looked like at my house:
