Mine is Chef Boy-Ar-Dee Meat Ravioli.
I loved that when I was a kid! I don't even want to acknowledge its existence today.

(14,150 posts)with I think chopped pickle or something in the spread. It was a base for sandwiches, but I liked it by itself on bread.

(7,262 posts)I want to think there was also red bell peppers and something else. It had a tangy taste. We used to eat it on bread by itself.

(11,949 posts)I haven't thought of that in ages! Mom would grimace when Dad and I would sit down for a snack of buttered bread and pickle spread. Before she got married, she worked in the factory that made the spread (Wilson Mayonnaise Company). Her job was to 'stir down' any flecks or items that weren't pickles that could be seen through the glass. She wouldn't touch mayo or sandwich spread type products unless it was Miracle Whip.

(65,481 posts)And, there's a lot of sugar in the sauce.
I use sugar in my sauce to cut the tomato acid a bit, but not like that.
And, I don't get the canned taste. They've been lining cans with phenolic reminds for 75 years! Why the metallic taste? Don't understand that.

(118,980 posts)I thought it was. Have not had it since. I'm having spaghetti tonight and there is no can taste because I ordered in.

(32,108 posts)I wouldn't say I'd "never" eat them now, but I haven't had them in years. I hear the quality has deteriorated, which is saying something. It doesn't sound like they're worth the mostly-empty calories.

(65,481 posts)Don't remember liking them. My mom made chop sure (at least her version of it) a lot, so my idea of Asian wasn't prepared food.
