(34,108 posts)they are at mine -- for the past week now. today as i walked past them there were two or three girls yelling and screaming. i wondered what the fuck was up with their moms who weren't telling them to stfu. yelling and screaming? how does that charm people into wanting to buy cookies or anything?
as i walked thru the parking lot i wondered what would have gotten me to stop or acknowledge or at least appreciate them. i decided singing might have done the trick. not scream/yelling but real singing.
but kids repeatedly yelling at me & others BUY MY COOKIES!!!!! does not exactly charm me or make me want to interact with them. it makes me think they are rude and ill mannered. and makes me want to get the hell away from them. which i d

Ignore her, pick a lemon from the tree behind her, and make some lemonade.
If you want to be kind, buy some from her - just give her the money but walk away quick - just you and the lemon!
Reading the labels - must resist!

Their cookies. are overpriced for what they are and cash is pure profit.
(besides Im a cookie vampire- I have no interest in cookies in daylight, but around midnight THE BEAST wells up- THAT IS WHEN GIRL SCOUTS WOULD CLEAN UP!).
Okay, I know its past their bedtime, so I just drop some cash.

(15,573 posts)They were out in full force outside my Kroger store, giggling and hopping around like little bunnies pushing their wares. Of course, this old lady needs cookies like she needs a hole in her head, but what the heck. I bought the thin mints. Two boxes. I live alone. Guess I'll just have to eat them all by myself. I tell myself it's for a good cause.

(993 posts)If you love Girl Scout Cookies and can't find them locally---Go to the website for Troop 6000 and order some to be shipped to your home.
https://www.girlscoutsnyc.org/troop6000
Troop 6000 serves girls and their families living in temporary /homeless housing in New York.
Girl Scout Cookie sales is how Girl Scout Troops all over the world fund raise to pay for the programs and activities---and you get a sweet treat in return!
Thank You,
I've missed them since COVID and just ordered 5 boxes from Troop 6000. (Also free shipping for the next while if you order 4 or more.)

(16,684 posts)Right outside my local supermarket. I only bought 3 boxes, which is pretty restrained for me, and I refuse to feel guilty about it. It's only once a year, for Pete's sake, and some years I don't get any, because I don't happen to go to the supermarket the day the girls are there selling.

Ten boxes, then three more. At a Doctor Who convention they call that a "Tom Baker's Dozen."
