Hey Guys-
Just wanted to share an epiphany that hit me the other night as I was sitting watching tv. I looked around the room, and had this overwhelming sense of "OKAY-NESS"
bills paid, kids surviving(20-year-olds are sometimes unstable lol), house solid, food in fridge, laundry done, etc...
WTAF? I felt like my mom was lookinng down from heaven and saying "Finally!"
It's a strange peace, and I know it won't last, but for a fleeting moment, everything was alright.
My prayers are that maybe some of it will rub off, and you can have some OKAY-NESS too!!!
(Don't get me wrong, the rest of the world is fucked, but my little bubble is happy for now lol)

I've been attempting to follow the AA serenity prayer every day for 30 or so years - with some success. Not every day is full of bunnies and rainbows, but I can sometimes get a more reasonable perspective on the universe.

(32,952 posts)But it kind of struck me this morning when I was making the bed . I am so grateful to have my own bed to sleep in, a house all paid for to live in, (modest as it is), a peaceful neighborhood to live in, all grown kids healthy and successful, and plenty of food and clothes. (although compared to some of my family members, Im the poor relation). I think poor is relative, however .

(32,952 posts)I agree 100%.
My mother even said to me when I married a school teacher, I guess you want to be poor your whole life, well I think blessings are more than a lot of money.

(22,559 posts)are an ever-increasing, swirling vortex of suck; I am, nonetheless genuinely glad to know your little bubble is in a moment of comfort and security. It gives me hope that such things still exist and are attainable.

(20,889 posts)I ran out of butter, but the store is just down the street.
I didn't have any dinner plans, but our pantry supplied goodies for a pot of soup that smells wonderful.
I agree, the bubble is OK here too, thanks you for reminding me

(24,478 posts)but in a good way. We sold our mobile home about six weeks ago. We are going to be moving into a manufactured home on my grandson's property where two of our great grandchildren live. The new home has been on site for several months, and the setting up is finally proceeding. We are staying at our daughter's home for now and are comfortable here. We hope to be in the new home for Christmas. This will probably be our forever home. We are in our 70s, but have the energy for one for one more change in our life. I have lived at 28 addresses in my 70 years.
