(26,915 posts)kind of makes me cry.. a few years ago (before covid) we ate at a restaurant and they had a wall like this.. I asked the server and he said if you want to you can add something to your order for the wall. We did a sandwich and a shake, great idea!

(2,274 posts)I wonder why Canadians and Americans can be so different? While we have ..... pockets of niceness they seem to be nearly universally so.

This doesnt surprise me in the least. Its such a beautiful part of Canada too.

(11,668 posts)It seemed more personal than just tossing cash into their hat. ($5 was my usual if I that was the only option, because I'm on a pension, and it's NOT generous.) Especially in colder weather, I'd include something hot if the store had a deli counter.
Credit Where Credit Is Due: Despite making what a reviewer astutely characterized as "wimp metal," Jon Bon Jovi is a decent human being. He has a restaurant where you pay what you think the meal is worth, including nothing, if nothing is what you have.
I still don't like that band's output, but my estimation of him went WAY up when I saw this.
