The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWell, I'm on my way to the Los Angeles Festival of Books!
I haven't been in a long time..... Not since they moved from the UCLA campus to the USC campus.
I have a ticket to see Matthew Perry at 4:30 in one of the auditoriums. I'm a recovering addict/alcoholic and his book really hit home for me.
I can't get there too early because it's going to be in the 80's today and that's too much for me. However, I want to get there early enough to check out some of the booths and authors. I'm watching CSPAN now trying to see what folks are wearing. It's L.A. so pretty much anything goes...I can't decide weather to wear my flip flops or my tennis shoes.... I've had harder decisions to make....

I'm not enamoured with the USC Campus at all......I loved the festival when it was a UCLA. We didn't walk around very much but from what we saw it was tents on concrete. At UCLA (where it used to be) the atmosphere was great! Lots of grass, hills, etc.

(8,223 posts)We didn't actually walk around. By the time we got there and ate, it was almost time to get to the auditorium.
Matthew Perry was great but we really didn't get to see any other booths....
.............Just my opinion, but I don't like the USC vibe of the festival nearly as much as the UCLA vibe. We started to try to walk around but it's just concrete and tents about the place. UCLA has a really nice campus with hills and grass. That's much more my cup of tea.
Oh well....I enjoyed my day getting to hear Matthew speak and we were only a few aisles from the stage.....
