I mean don't get me wrong it's incredibly picturesque and there's many 1000's of amazing photos and paintings of the area, but until you've physically been there ... you can't quite grasp the majesty and grandeur.

Yosemite should be on everyone's bucket list, that simple.

If you don't like crowds and can tolerate the cold you can luck into a perfect uncrowded day at Yosemite in the winter.

Someday the O'Shaughnessy Dam will be removed at Hetch Hetchy, the land and river will be restored, and people will have another glacial valley to enjoy.

Spring because of the waterfalls and river flow, and Fall cause of the leaves changing (though there's very little in the falls or river by then). And weather is great in those months, generally.

Winter is okay too, esp if it's snowed recently and the trees are frosted with snow, SOOOO pretty!

When I go I don't stay/camp, my folks have a house a little over 1 hour drive from the Valley in Groveland (though I've also camped there, and stayed at the hotels there, in my youth).

Was there a month ago actually ... my lady's first time ever.

I hiked to the top of Half Dome when I was 22, I'll have to find a pic of me up there and share one of these days.
