On Amazon the other day, I was looking for an answer about why the "Proceed to Checkout" button took me directly back to my shopping cart.* As I was reading the FAQ, another tab opened with something called "Just Answer." I fell for it. I paid $86 for that inattentiveness. It took me far too long to figure out that this was not Amazon. I'd been had. I feel like an idiot.
I will figure out how to get my money back (and if you have any tips in this regard, I'll accept gladly).
Nefarious little shits.
What I need help with is this: every time I try to Google something, the first result is a Just Answer question box. It causes no harm but it pisses me off every time. I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I just cleared the 75 Just Answer cookies and it didn't help.
Can you help? I'd be grateful.
* I figured out the ordering problem, no help from Just Answer. One of the things in my cart was causing the problem. Figured it out by ordering my items one by one with "Buy Now." That one item wouldn't be bought. Its loss; that camp stool could've held my ass for years to come.

(1,288 posts)I doubt many people need Amazon. It has become so very convenient, though, that the thought of giving it up grieves me.
It won't kill me to quit, though.
I drew the line at aquarium plants. Maybe I can draw it in other areas. (Except e-books and music,)

It is so worth having a credit card with your bank.

(16,927 posts)Had a problem with my car radio and they were 'willing' to hook me up with a mechanic to tell me how to fix it.
BOOM!
$45 dollars later I told them that I felt that I had been scammed and they could all go for a ride with that 'mechanic' in aan old Yugo!
Boy, I hate when I do something stupid like that! I guess that's why I call myself a 'life-long learner!'
