I spent the whole day gathering tax forms, beginning to fill out my 1040, deleting duplicate files from my computer, and ... where did that bag of potatoes come from? Usually when potatoes go bad, they let you know. Not this bag. They dried up and didn't raise a big stink about it. Out they go.

I put a ham bone in the crockpot and added some dried beans to the broth. Nothing fancy. I was looking for some 16-bean soup mix, but it looks as if I've used up all those beans. The beans I've got on now are just plain old pinto beans. Goya, you won't want to hear, but I got them for 75 percent off. I couldn't pass that up.
