Now that I have your attention, yes its another ringing endorsement of Dont Look Up.
Incredible cast. Story by David Sirota. Ron Suskind is a co-producer.
**short review with sort of SPOILERS below**
The Jack Handy quote at the beginning and General Themes (actual characters name) are foreshadowing.
A great commentary on media, politics, and the environmental hammer.
My main take was that it was about how power corrupts and ultimate power corrupts completely.
Mark Rylance is incredible as Isherwell. A Bezos/Elon Musk type character.
I read that Jonah Hill said he thought of his role as if The Fire Island Festival were a person.
Jennifer Lawrence.
Theres an online comment during the Ariana Grande song performance Dont Look Up you Marxist skank
Meryl Streeps ass or a stunt ass. Not sure.

(26,025 posts)It was utterly scathing satire that didnt hold back on any of the deplorables. On edit: Im guessing stunt ass.

(20,232 posts)I think they can just hand over the Oscar to Mark Rylance for Best Actor in a supporting role.
The theme song that Ariana Grande sang should get best song (hilarious), but the nominees are selected by songwriters and composers only, so I don't know if they'll admire it as much as I did.
Cate Blanchett gets the award for best teeth.
Meryl Streep was willing to go bare down there, but Leonardo DiCaprio intervened. He said he REALLY didn't feel comfortable seeing Meryl Streep's ass, so they used a body double.
I continue to be impressed with Tyler Perry in non-Madea roles. He's a solid actor!
And it's 82 in Houston, getting up to 84 Tuesday and Wednesday.

(182,992 posts)I read that everyone was referring to Streep as G. O. A. T. and she had no idea what it meant. She thought they were calling her old.

(6,812 posts)Perfect statement on our screwed up media, politics, tech giants. I do think the most scathing statement was on us-the American people.
