(9,696 posts)He would go through the trash when I wasn't home, dig out the rinds and chew them to nothing. It was impossible for me to eat cantalope without him smelling it from where ever he was. Once I left a cantalope sitting on the kitchen counter and I came in to find him sitting next to it, giving me "the stare" that cats do so well.
He also loved avocado, but not to the same extreme.

(34,559 posts)Any meat or fish you are eating of course must be shared. If you open a can of pumpkin then turn your back to do something else, when you turn around he will be on the counter eating it. Any dairy products, including cottage cheese and crème fraiche, send him into foodie heaven. French fries are a special favorite as are avocados. The list goes on
And yes, he gets a variety of good cat food, and isnt overweight (probably because he burns it up playing).

(21,858 posts)and muffins. He was a health food nut, though, and only went for whole grain bread and bran muffins.
I set some bran muffins on a counter to cool after taking them from the oven. Later discovered that two had "disppeared." Thereafter, I had to guard bran muffins from his thieving paws.
Another time, I left a loaf of just-purchased bread on the table while I put away the other groceries. When I returned to the bread, the cat was licking his lips and then his paws. There was a hole eaten through the entire loaf, from one end to the other, leaving behind only the crusts.
He preferred bread and muffins, but also swiped a meatball off my plate once. Another time he grabbed a pizza slice from the box.
I guess he thought people food was better.
