The witch of November let us off easy this year. I know we will pay a price for this sooner or later but damn
it was a stellar afternoon. Heres a few pix of my hike today
it was just heavenly. Nova even found a watering hole to play in.

(86,798 posts)I have been going to SE Idaho for dental work and to be with close friends for the holiday and there was a whole, maybe, 6 inches in West Yellowstone when I went through, even after snow on Tuesday/Wednesday. The roads were dry and clear, it was 41 and raining in the canyon north of Big Sky. The ski festival in West was cancelled for the first time ever due to no snow.
Kind of spooky.

(23,337 posts)I still loved it. Im still harvesting herbs from my garden. Its not at all normal but still

(86,798 posts)My friends in Idaho were saying too. I was glad for clear roads over three passes each way, only had wind on the way down. Otherwise, it was a good drive. Should have had snow pack on roads for at least half of the trip this time of year.
The rabbits haven't changed color that I could tell, I did see some Trumpeter Swans in the usual places in Island Park.

(14,946 posts)Big city gal, here. Love visiting interesting, beautiful cities!
I also love the deep countryside.
Been up into The Rockies (Denver area) by motorcycle (!!!!!) my cousin doing the motoring.
Visited the high desert of the Navajo and Hopi Nations with a friend driving, plus visiting then us sleeping overnight in Monument Valley with the glittering Milky Way span above us when we awoke around 3AM+.
Visited the Grand Canyon.
Revisited the Navajo & Hopi Nations 2xs again by tour but in a van, and then in a car.
Toured The Black Hills by bus.
First trip was across to SF, then LA, but first meeting up with my friend in Flagstaff AZ to drive up to The Nations.
And visiting the GC, too.
Took the Nations tour after meeting up twice w someone on the bus when we chatted between some stops. Then when I got back on the bus 2+ days later she was behind me on line. We talked, and talked and clicked, as we headed to Flagstaff, AZ.
Second trip I headed north to SD from NM. When I came down from Rapid City I visited my cousin in Denver; where he took me up to Echo Lake north east of Mt Evans.
Went back to Flagstaff, and did the Nations tour again.
We are blessed with a country filled with such magnificent, beautiful, fascinating, and majestic landscapes! 💖
