Sometimes things just dawn on me all of the sudden.

Alright...just a fucking second here.......
(Yes, this took way too many years to dawn on me)

The Blue Lagoon;

Two children marooned on an island build a multi level house, with doors, a roof, tables and chairs, beds, a porch and probably running water, all before they are 18.

Castaway;

A grown ass man marooned on a similar island lives in a fucking cave for 7 years.

What the ever living fuck?

Motto? (Not motto, should be moral )
If you have to be marooned on a desert island in the Pacific, do so with Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins and NOT Tom Hanks, because obviously working for FedEx makes you stupid.

try to get marooned with Mary Ann. And maybe the Professor, get him to make one of those coconut radio things. Grass hut is good enough for me.

in which he complains about Gilligan's ineptitude and how he wants to kill him, and finally succeeds in getting rid of everyone except Ginger and May Ann.

He lived happily ever after!

The story might have appeared in National Lampoon, but I can't find it.

Didn't dawn on me when I was a kid--how come no one speaks German on that show? They all speak English with a quasi-German accent. The husband turns on old reruns sometimes.

I mean, they had tunnels ALL OVER THAT CAMP!

You would think the Germans would get suspicious when various buildings would fall over if you leaned on them.

And no one ever thought to look in the coffee pot.

Interesting tidbit--the little French guy had been an actual prisoner of war in real life.

I mean...a gorgeous witch that can do anything and a beautiful Jeannie that called him "Master", who wore the sexiest outfit on TV back then and was DYING to give him anything he wanted, but no....

Both of them continued with their shitty jobs and asshole bosses. OK...Major Nelson was an astronaut, but STILL!!

What about the girls of Petticoat Junction using the town’s water tank as a bathtub. I hope they used the loo beforehand.

That water tank was for the Steam Locomotive pulling the Cannonball.

Note the water spout on the right that is pulled down to fill the engine's water tank;

It's a little hard to see, but it is the conical device pointing straight up on the right side of the tank.

So it isn't as if that little tank was the drinking water for all of Petticoat Junction, Population: ....what?....ten, maybe?

BUT.....if this little hamlet existed in a world of cars and big cities, did the Cannonball rails ever carry other trains? Or was that tiny little railroad just a closed loop through the valley? And if so, how did it make any money if it couldn't deliver the local farm crops to a larger market?

I just had a very TV centered youth, as most of my generation did.

This is only the second Thanksgiving I've had off in 8 years. I usually work the holidays because I don't have a wife and kids, so that way another driver who might want to be home, can be. It's not a big deal and I'm not at all special for doing that. Not to mention it pays a bit more to work the holidays anyway!

But this year there weren't any trips that needed to be covered, so I'm home.

Thanks for the kind sentiment.
