So my mom has Covid

I am assuming she does. Her husband went to the VA days ago and he definitely has it. He may or may not still be in the hospital. She truly has no clue.

She’s weak, has been for about 8 days now. He has the same symptoms. No coughing for her, just fatigue.

I cannot convince her to go to the hospital. Some public health folks (maybe from the hospital?) showed up a few days ago and checked on her to see if she was ok. I’m a bit surprised to hear that but I assume it’s because her husband was in the hospital with covid.

She’s just not into medicine. Or vaccines. Yes, she is unvaccinated. Since she’s in her early 80s, I fully appreciate what that means.

I live several hours away. I can’t just drive down the street and drag her unwillingly to the hospital.

They're actually supposed to be administered early, before hospitalization. Any chance that a doctor can get her to take that?

and eat foods that she thinks will boost immunity. She won’t go to the hospital or seek what I’d consider standard health care.

It's just sad that she's making you worry about her. I wish she'd care more about that.

Rapid antigen tests detect active COVID-19 infections and provide results in minutes. I think that would be a good first step if she won't go to a doctor for that.

I’m going a family member that lives closer will be willing to help with that, but I doubt she’ll go for it. She thinks it’s food poisoning.

because before the swab is inserted some chemical of 6-8;drops has been placed in to the sleeve to react with the cotton swab being inserted . If she is against cotton swabs after that explanation not much can be done
Someone could get Amazon Walmart or target to deliver it if she agrees and is too sick
