In the last week or two, I've seen friend recommendations for four people who had passed away. Some more than a year ago. I tell TJ, "I see dead people."

The more Facebook tries to attract my attention, the less relevant to my life it becomes. The word flailing seems a good description of their endeavors.

duck-mouthed, fake-boobed boobs?

I deal with such non-entities enough in my daily life where they're hard to avoid. Why would I invite them onto my Facebook page?

As I said flailing.

I suspect if I was commenting on posts pointing out idiots the algorithm might grab keywords and get a match with idiots. My activities on Facebook are mainly keeping up with what entertainment gigs folks I know are performing or crewing and with what my extended family members are doing.

But I'm suddenly getting news stories in my feed from National Review, Town Hall, and other odious right-wing outlets. I hide the posts and ask Facebook to block them, but it's still irritating just to see their dumb-as-a-post headlines.

I must get twenty or thirty a day. I just scroll through hitting Remove, Remove, Remove, etc.
