(206,275 posts)We listened to the record all the time. And we thought Shirley Jones was so beautiful! (She really was!) When I was really young, I went with my parents and brother to see the show live - it was in some huge tent somewhere, no idea where, but the leads were Barbara Cook and Van Johnson! I can still remember Van Johnson marching up and down the aisles for the ("76 Trombones" ) finale! But I still have no idea where it was...

(206,275 posts)And I'm also in New York - so that's where I must have seen the live show, but I'm not sure where it was. We were fairly young and that was an unusual thing for us to do, but we enjoyed it.
And I've watched the movie on TV countless times, have to watch whenever I run across it, and I still remember all the words to the songs - and I'll bet my cousin does, too.

(7,813 posts)was in Happy Days. Mr. & Mrs. Cunningham were in line to get tickets to see The Music Man in their local theater. Mrs. C was excited to see the movie because "the little boy in the movie looked just like Richie did when he was that age."
It still makes me giggle.
