Our use of the word ram coming from the behavior of rams? Don't know, never looked it up.

Herding dogs are amazing, in general. I'll never own one, because I don't have space or the energy to meet such a dog's needs, but I really admire them.

I'll never the time my daughter and I were in Petsmart and there was a rough collie* at the doggy day care that kept trying to herd the other dogs (who were completely ignoring their efforts). It was pretty funny That herding instinct is really strong in some of those dogs.

*Rough collie is the name for a "Lassie" type collie, which is a different breed from the border collie, in case anyone doesn't know.

He would run ahead, check to make sure it was clear, and then race back and get behind us to move us along, then repeat.

We are convinced that is what he was doing, even if he wasn't.

We have a Border Collie but no sheep. So she plays with/stalks us like we are her sheep. This scene plays out in our house everyday.

I dearly lover her but . . .

border collies. they're incredibly smart, can run for hours, and live to work.
during the pandemic i've become hooked on all kinds of farming vlogs. These are all about sheep:

the first 3 have amazing videos of their dogs working, and the last one is Sandi Brock, my favorite vlogger period.
