they had a goal of culling 2 million feral cats (this is an old article). They kill too many of Australia's native birds/species.

Dingoes are Australias only native canid and play an important role as an apex predator, keeping natural systems in balance.
The Dingo is Australias largest terrestrial carnivore, though it occasionally eats plants and fruits. They're opportunistic hunters, but will also scavenge food. The bulk of their diet is made up of meat: they eat kangaroos, wallabies, feral pigs, wombats, small mammals (rabbits, rodents), birds and lizards...
the Dingo is listed as Vulnerable to extinction under the International Union of Nature Conservations Red List of Threatened Species.

Btw same shit happened in the dark ages because they murdered cats.
