Hi I'm a new poster, told to introduce myself here

My name is Tony and I live in Massachusetts (495 corridor). I'm old enough let's say. I have two great kids both heading off to college next year. One delayed a few years to do some traveling in Europe.

I'm was born a Democrat and have followed politics since I was very young. My first political memory was unfortunately the 1980 election.

Anyway bye for now.

Curious as to how you found this place! I live up in Central Maine again, but lived in Stoughton for a number of years previously.

introduction. Perhaps some interesting stories about kids going off to college, eh? In any event, here's wishing you and all good wishes and well being.

One is going next year in January and the other is starting Fall of 2021. Both are already being told what to expect from the Covid19 world. One is going to live with me for now but my baby is going away to one of two mountain time zone schools so I'm nervous about the new world to say the least.

especially in a whole new environment (away from home, at college, etc.).

At least, everyone is kind of in the same boat (college being a whole new experience). Perhaps an emphasis on online courses and mostly online stuff, homework, etc., but part of the college experience is the hands on activities w/ the other students, other thoughts, other ideas, etc. that college brings to a person. I hope that in some ways, these experiences can be still be safely had.

Perhaps by the time your two are in school, we'll know more about the CV, and perhaps multiple vaccine(s), multiple solutions in dealing w/ the CV will be available (of course social distancing and masks always work). Best of wishes to all of you!

It hasn't been so bad. We haven't been concerned for her health. Mainly just concerned she would have an awful experience and/or get sent home early. It has definitely been less than normal (no sports, no clubs, no rush, no sit-down dining) but she has done better than we expected. She has managed to find her tribe. After all, they are all in this together so they are finding ways to make it work. We have been very impressed with her school (Ohio State) as they have adapted to these new times.

You should be better off by this time next year. In the best case, we will be past most of this madness. In the worst case, the colleges should be better at making it work for the students.

Best of Luck
