I can't wait until my 50th birthday, to see my two sisters and spend a whole week with them (and Mrs. V., of course) in Hollywood Beach, FL. 2/22/13, baby! Vacation starts on 2/16.

1. LOTS, as I recall.

Couldn't wait to drive; couldn't wait for first family trip to Europe, Oct. 4, 1957; couldn't wait for Honeymoon in Italy, 1984, and on and on and on. NOW, maybe can't wait 'til 50th high school reunion, September 28>.

2. Turning 21!

I went out when the clock struck midnight on my birthday and had a blast.

6. Yeah, I remember my first 'legal' drink.

3. Waiting seven weeks to

get my new sheepdog puppy.

4. So far my 50s were the best decade of my life.

I'm only 63 so I can't say how good this decade will be, but so far it's definitely got its perks.

5. Oh yeah. Miz t. was in labor for 24 hours.

Could not WAIT for that kid to pop.

I was with her in the labor room ( I brought a book ), and in the delivery room.
Our ob-gyn was Chinese, Dr. Kuo Chung Sun.
That's along story.

He 'guaranteed' us a boy.
Not that I cared.
This was way before ultrasound.
You did the job and took your chances.


When he held our new baby up by the ankles, I was looking at the tiny butt.
He slowly turned HER around for a full frontal view and said "Not boy, Not done yet. Put back."

He was a real joker.

Maybe not tho; he's 'only' Egyptian!
