SHARON, Wis.
Police say they clocked a Walworth County woman driving at 133 mph with children in the car.
A Sharon police officer Aug. 31 saw 31-year-old Evangelina Sanchez coming fast down Highway C.
His first radar reading said 133 mph, and even as she slowed coming into town, she hit the village limits at 57 mph in a 25 mph zone.
The officer said when he pulled her over and approached her car, "he could smell a burning rubber smell and the odor of a hot engine."
When the officer asked Sanchez why she was driving so fast in her 2016 Hyundai, she said simply she "had to get home."

(23,314 posts)I have a 2016 Hyudai Santa Fe with the bigger engine and it really hauls. This woman had kids in the car? Throw the book at her.
