with herbs, as the dressing. Home made rolls are the best.
I grew up in the Hudson Valley region, of New York State, That's what we called them there, at least during the 1960's and 70's. When I moved away, in my early 20's, I found there were other names for them.

(102,577 posts)It is so hard to "low carb" some days. I could seriously reach through my screen and grab your sandwich, especially the bread...LOL

(17,028 posts)But you have to start with a really good sub roll. My fave is pumpernickel. Top with Boarshead blackened turkey, Munster cheese, banana peppers, tomato, and a little sweet Cole slaw. Damn! Now Ill hungry.

(12,165 posts)To find a family owned shop for a cheesesteak with grilled onions, mushrooms and Italian peppers topped with provolone. I like to find out if they taste the same as I remember from 45 years ago.
We have a place that makes a pretty good imitation here but the rolls are off. They can't bake good bread in Texas. The bread in your picture looks very good.

(5,240 posts)I don't like sandwiches much, and if I'm doing a rare fast food meal I would not get a sub, but Jersey Mike's original Italian is the exception to my rule.
