But it makes you wonder what they were thinking.

"We have an extra $200 to use on these stairs. What can we do with it? I know, let's add some more handrails. You can never have enough handrails!"

were falling down the stairs when they walked down the center. Although I think just one handrail down the center would have done the trick. It is a bit of overkill.

while talking to someone, and they ended up stuck in the apex of that double handrail. How embarrassing would that be?!

I can imagine someone starting down the stairs, noticing the cat at the last moment, trying to avoid stepping on it and falling and injuring themselves, ... and the cat be like, "What's your problem, dude?"
