Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI have a few GoFundMe questions.
I have never donated to anyone via GoFundMe.
Now I have someone with a serious health condition I want to donate to, and I have a few newbie questions.
1. I see a tab with a drop down box that asks for a gratuity. What is that about? Is it mandatory?
2. At some point is there a page that asks for a method of payment - Credit/debit card, PayPal, or?
Thanks for any help, I just want this to go smoothly the first time around.

The GoFundMe Tip
Rather than charging a platform fee on personal campaigns, GoFundMe gives donors the option to add a voluntary tip. Your donation receipt will show you a breakdown of your donation and tip amount. On your statement, this will either show up as a single combined charge or as two separate charges.
These tips allow GoFundMe to maintain and improve our free platform. We are incredibly grateful for the donors who help keep GoFundMe the safest, most trusted, and most successful option for personal fundraising. Only with your help can we continue to provide help to others when they need it most.

GoFundMe drops 5% Platform Fee for U.S. personal campaigns, adds tips
GoFundMe, the popular fundraising juggernaut that now has 50 million users and has raised over $5 billion in funding for causes to date, is making an interesting change today that could see those numbers getting a boost or at least help it fend off competition from other fundraising platforms like Facebooks.
GoFundMe is dropping the five percent Platform Fee that it charges to individuals when they launch personal campaigns on the platform (in the U.S. only for now), and it will instead rely on optional tips to generate revenues from these campaigns.

Their "default" setting is suggested @ 10%, it can be adjusted down to 5%, or of course higher.
The amount I plan to give would result in a considerable $$ amount, even at 5%.
