and Salmonella can be a very potent pathogen for dogs, just as for humans, not a good idea.

Not to mention that several human Salmonella outbreaks were transmitted from infected dog to human. That's why all the current furry over the Salmonella contaminated dog foods--especially those from China. There have been dozens of these incidents recently.

e.g.,

Missouri-based pet food maker issues another recall
The Associated Press
Illinois is among the states from where Meta, Mo.-based Diamond Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling another type of dog food because of potential exposure to salmonella.

But, yes, of course they eat crap, but not all bacteria are equal, nor even harmful.

but it may not be up to me - she is an order or two of magnitude more spry than I.
By the time I got the rag
the egg would probably
be in the bag
(of her her stomach I mean...)

On the other hand she knows what the cheese bag sounds like and demands I drop a shred or two for her when I'm making anything with cheese.

Tip one out for mah home dawg.

And with 4 dogs there's no way 1 would have been enough. Maybe if it would have been a dozen...

... but the hounds would already be there.

The tiniest sliver of cheese dropped from the grater won't be long on the floor.

Yes, I cook with dogs in the kitchen.

... I can't remember ever dropping an egg on the floor. For most food that I do drop, I summon the hounds (unless they are already there - they are pretty quick).

The correct answer was, step back so he didn't start trying to eat your toes too. He never got over the fact that his first owners didn't think feeding him was required.
