(102,276 posts)and Salmonella can be a very potent pathogen for dogs, just as for humans, not a good idea.
Not to mention that several human Salmonella outbreaks were transmitted from infected dog to human. That's why all the current furry over the Salmonella contaminated dog foods--especially those from China. There have been dozens of these incidents recently.

But, yes, of course they eat crap, but not all bacteria are equal, nor even harmful.

On the other hand she knows what the cheese bag sounds like and demands I drop a shred or two for her when I'm making anything with cheese.
