(87,106 posts)When that bear gets an attitude and figures out that the guy is made out of meat and might be something to eat, the game's up.
With your background...you know it better than about anyone. 🐻.

(23,372 posts)I love bears...I really do. I live in a wildlife corridor where bears and lions frequently pass through. I appreciate them from a distance. They deserve that.

(12,521 posts)Timmy just served himself and his girlfriend up as a meal due to his naivete. It made gruesome Discovery channel TV.
I got stalked by a grizzly on a big muskeg patch next to Lake Iliamna, and even though when it lost my scent and it was still a good 200-300 feet away, I was as nervous, or just plain scared, as I had ever been in my life. I still get goose bumps thinking about the bear up on its rear legs busily sniffing the air for my scent with a come out..come out wherever you are posture about it. Eek.

(3,077 posts)The control is an illusion. The attempt to try to control that kind of a force of nature is a lie. The bear is powerful beyond any human. The bear cannot be contained. It's important to respect and appreciate the power. A bear is unpredictable. I was interested in what people would see looking at this picture.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
